Overview

Waterford’s Data Science Team has in-depth experience with custom software applications for the energy industry. With a broad range of disciplines, the team is able to work in a wide range of software areas. The team’s focus is to develop software tools that complement Waterford’s consulting services and enable superior results to clients.

Established in 2016 with a goal of transforming WESI for the digital energy industry, the team seeks out academic and industry partners to collaborate while developing transformational software tools. The Data Science Team consists of engineering experts, recent university graduates and software developers. Staff includes cloud and big data engineers, user experience (UX) designers, front-end web developers, data scientists, and machine learning experts.

To date, Waterford’s Data Science Team’s accomplishments include WESI’s project management software (W-Assure) and a new state of the art application utilizing Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing.

Team Members

Michael Cullymore (MCP)

Team Lead / Senior Software Specialist. Mike is focused and ambitious when designing custom software solutions. He enjoys learning new technologies and techniques as well as mentoring teams. With over twenty years of experience, Mike brings attention to detail and strong technical capabilities together. These skills combined with a creative side allows Mike to lead WESI’s creation of awesome software.

Mateus Pereira

Data Scientist. Mateus currently holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of São Paulo. He has previous experience developing a back-end micro-services architecture from design to implementation. In May 2018, Mateus began his master’s degree in computer science at Dalhousie University. In collaboration with WESI, he is currently researching and developing machine learning and visualization technologies for one of the company’s lead projects.

Ayman Mohatarem

Analyst/Developer. Ayman is in the final stages of a Master’s in Applied Computer Science at Dalhousie University. He is a relentless challenge seeker who heads up WESI’s cloud platforms, DevOps and development. His personality and drive is just one of the reasons he is a key member of WESI’s Team.

Manav Sharma

Data Scientist. Manav is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Computer Science at Dalhousie University. In collaboration with WESI, he is currently researching and developing Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms and machine learning technologies for one of the company’s lead projects. Prior to joining WESI, Manav was developing back-end micro-services and API’s for web application at a leading IT consultancy service. Manav has a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Gujarat Technological University, India.

Navkaran Kumar

A self-driven problem solver with always energetic attitude to implement novel and efficient solutions, Navkaran leads Development for multiple projects at WESI involving Full-Stack responsibilities. He also works simultaneously on implementation of application security principles for these projects too. Assisting management in identifying and successfully achieving project milestones is another reason why he is part of WESI’s development wing. He has also completed his Master’s in Applied Computer Science from Dalhousie University. With diverse hands on experience in application development in multiple technologies and always learning personality, Navkaran plays an important role in WESI’s Software Development Team.

Raghav Gupta

DevOps Lead / Analyst / Developer. Raghav is a seeker who heads DevOps and the cloud resources at WESI. He also works as a developer contributing in the development of software. He has completed his Master’s in Applied Computer Science from Dalhousie University. With a solid background in Computer Science and a keen interest in new technologies, Raghav is one of the key members of the WESI’s software team.
